Feature of Low-E Glass
Low・E glass is called Low Emissivity Glass; It is a film product coated with multilayer of metal or other compound plated on the glass surface. The main functional layer is silver for Low・E. Silver is one of the substances with low emissivity in nature.The glass that coated with a Nano-level silver on the surface can reduce the emissivity of the glass from 0.84 to the range of 0.02 to 0.12, thereby filtering the sunlight into a cold light source. The coating layer can transmit highly the visible and reflect the mid-to- far infrared light, which filters sunlight into a cold light source, which not only satisfies natural lighting requirements, but also ensures comfortable room temperature.

The performance is stable enough for long distance transportation to achieve post tetnpered and insulating etc.

Differences among Single Low-E, Double Low-E and Triple Low-E
1.Difference Among Coatings
Normal Low-E glass usually has only one layer of pure silver (functional layer), which is called Single-silver Low-E glass.
The total layers of the Double Low-E glass are up to 9, which includes 2 layers of silver; Triple Low-E glass can have over 13 layers includes 3 layers of stiver. Compared to Single Low-E glass, even though the processing requirements are higher for the Double Low-E and Triple Low-E glass, the performance of energy saving is much better.
2.Difference of Functions
Optical parameters: Under the premise of equal light transmittance, Double Low-E and Triple Low-E glass have a lower shading coefficient and lower heat transfer coefficient U (see the following table).So, Double Low-E and Triple Low-E glasses can block more solar radiant heat compare to Single Low-E glass and filter more solar light into cold light sources.
Indoor comfort: Low-E glass can greatly reduce the heat exchange between indoor and outdoor environment through glass; therefore, when temperature reached the presetting temperature through air-conditioning cooling or heating system, the temperature can be preserved for a long time, which means the air-conditioning can be in a longer time for standby, which saves power. Moreover, the shading properties of Low-E glass makes it possible to reduce the time to use curtains, thereby improving the comfort of indoor lighting and creating a more transparent and bright indoor environment. One sample example, in summer, the effective running of air-conditioning for cooling is 100 days if using the ordinary glass for the building; the time reduces to 35 days if the building is using Single Low-E glass;by using Triple glass, the effective running for the airconditioning can be dormal to 30 days or even less, which saves greatly the electricity cost. From the long-term point of view, although Double Low-E and Triple Low-E increase a small amount of the construction cost, they reduce greatly the energy consumption for the building. The saved energy will compensate the addedcost for the construction in a very short time.
